Michal
Michal Ben Yosef
Hello :)
My name is Michal, and I LOVE clay!
For 30 years, I’ve been a ceramicist, creating practical ceramic dishes in small series. Alongside my partner, we’ve designed and manufactured Judaica objects in our studio. Recently, I’ve longed for a smaller-scale studio, and now it’s here, nestled in my garden, surrounded by nature, with birds chirping and changing daylight.
In addition to ceramics, I’m also a graphic designer. I integrate my design work into clay, and recently, I’ve been exploring materials like fabrics, wood, and glass to complement my Shabbat and holiday collections.
I create dinnerware and beautiful home items in small, evolving series. My Judaica pieces are rooted in tradition and sacred rituals, handcrafted using slab-building or wheel techniques. My designs are influenced by Japanese aesthetics—clean lines, minimalistic yet intricate, with a poetic touch. The texture and marks in my work are unique, adding a personal signature to each piece.
I hope you find something in my creations that resonates with you. I’m blessed to do what I love, and I’m thrilled to know that people appreciate and find joy in my work. ❤️

As a little girl, I loved playing with mud and would even taste the soil from my mom’s flowerpots.
Who knew that those early experiments with clay would lead me to a lifelong passion?
Now, I’m still “tasting” clay, but in a much more refined and artistic way ;)
